Cafe Altura coffees are organically grown at altitudes above 3000 feet. The coffee tree grows according to its natural cycle, without the use of harmful chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Using companion planting, compost and shade trees, the farmers create a balanced, healthy and self-sustaining growing environment that replenishes the topsoil and provides a winter home to many species of migratory birds. Buying from the same small family farms each year insures the integrity and quality of the coffees. Special harvesting selects ripened cherries washed in rainwater, sun dried, hand sorted, then air-roasted for a rich, smooth taste.

  • Directions

    Use cold filtered water, not distilled. 2 Rounded tablespoons per 6 oz. water, adjust for taste. Grind beans for 10 to15 seconds or use grinder recommendation per type of brewer used. Storage: Bag may be kept at room temperature. For prolonged shelf life, place in a zip-lock bag and refrigerate.

This version of Café Altura - the dark roast Italian style whole beans - is not only the best Café Altura but is the best COFFEE we have bought, and we are pretty much coffee snobs. This is really excellent coffee and the fact that it is organic and has the same great Café Altura standards is a bonus. Grinding the beans is an extra gift because the roast and quality just make the kitchen smell heavenly. Great coffee, beginning to end.
